Best Ever Hot Chocolate Drink

The best hot chocolate! This super chocolate hot chocolate is thick, rich, and soft. The perfect drink to eat during cold winter nights!

Happy New Year Everyone! May you all enjoy your vacation, and for those of you who are reinventing some of my recipes, I hope they become a hit!

We started the New Year with the best hot chocolate recipe ever! Even though Christmas has passed, it is still Winter which means it is still acceptable to drink tons of delicious hot chocolate to keep it warm.

Best Ever Hot Chocolate Drink

Ingredients

Hot Chocolate

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 glasses of pure milk
6 ounces of dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup thick cream
2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
6 ounces of milk chocolate, chopped

Optional Topping

Salted caramel sauce
Mini marshmallow
Chocolate shavings
Chocolate sauce
Shake cream (recipe below)
Marshmallow fur
Cinnamon sticks
Candy cane

Sweet Cream Cream:

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup thick cream, let cool
4 tablespoons of powdered sugar

Instructions

For Chocolate Heat:

Add milk, cream, chocolate, vanilla and chopped chocolate to a medium saucepan and heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture boils, about 8-10 minutes. Do not boil.

Pour hot chocolate into a cup. Top with one of the optional toppings above, if desired (whipped cream recipe below, if using) serve and enjoy!

For Whipped Wheetened Cream:

In a medium stealing bowl, use a handheld mixer, whip the cold cream, powdered sugar and vanilla until the cream holds the top.
