Beef and Broccoli Ramen Stir Fry Recipe

Beef and Broccoli Ramen Stir Fry Recipe

Beef and Broccoli Ramen Stir Fry is a dish with savory Ramen noodles, tender beef, and lots of broccoli. These homemade stir-fries are an easy 30-minute lunch or dinner.

This easy stir fry is a one-pot dinner twist on a classic Chinese beef and broccoli dish. I like to add the ramen noodles, along with the homemade savory sauce, to make it a complete dinner on its own.

The ingredients are very similar to our very popular Beef and Broccoli Saute and the addition of instant ramen makes it a one-time meal.

Ingredients

For the stir fry sauce:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup beef stock
  • 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar

For stir fry:

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 2 (3 ounce) packets of dry ramen noodles, seasoning packets removed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, trimmed of fat and sliced into 1/4-inch-thick strips
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Sesame seeds, garnish
  • Sriracha, decoration

Instruction

Make the stir fry sauce:

  1. Add the garlic and ginger to a bowl and pass the soy sauce through the sesame oil. Whisk in the cornstarch last, and try to shake off as many lumps as possible. It's okay if there are a few lumps, as they will cook when you add the sauce to the pan.
  2. This makes a lot, because I love this dish to be so saucy. You can split the recipe in half if you prefer a drier stir fry. If you have leftover sauce, store it well in the refrigerator for a week in an airtight container or jar.

Prepare the noodles:

  1. Cook dry ramen noodles in boiling water until tender, 2 to 3 minutes. Drain the noodles and rinse under cold water to stop them from cooking.

Cook stir fry:

  1. In a large skillet or skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Season the steak with 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper.
  2. Once the skillet is hot, add the steak pieces. Cook for about 3 minutes, undisturbed, to allow them to burn well on one side. Then stir and continue cooking for another 2 to 3 minutes, until the steak is cooked through.
  3. Remove the steak from the skillet, and add a tablespoon of olive oil and broccoli florets. Add 1/2 cup water to the pan and cover. Steam broccoli for 2 minutes. Broccoli should be bright green and tender, and not mushy at all.
  4. Add the steaks back to the skillet, along with the cooked and rinsed noodles. Pour in all the sauce. (If you prefer a drier stir fry, you can start with half the sauce.) Use tongs or a large rubber spatula to stir the ingredients as the sauce cooks. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Serve the stir fry immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and, optionally, sriracha.
