Beef and Broccoli Ramen Stir Fry Recipe
Beef and Broccoli Ramen Stir Fry Recipe
Beef and Broccoli Ramen Stir Fry is a dish with savory Ramen noodles, tender beef, and lots of broccoli. These homemade stir-fries are an easy 30-minute lunch or dinner.
This easy stir fry is a one-pot dinner twist on a classic Chinese beef and broccoli dish. I like to add the ramen noodles, along with the homemade savory sauce, to make it a complete dinner on its own.
The ingredients are very similar to our very popular Beef and Broccoli Saute and the addition of instant ramen makes it a one-time meal.
Ingredients
For the stir fry sauce:
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 3/4 cup beef stock
- 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
For stir fry:
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 2 (3 ounce) packets of dry ramen noodles, seasoning packets removed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 1 pound sirloin steak, trimmed of fat and sliced into 1/4-inch-thick strips
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- Sesame seeds, garnish
- Sriracha, decoration
Instruction
Make the stir fry sauce:
- Add the garlic and ginger to a bowl and pass the soy sauce through the sesame oil. Whisk in the cornstarch last, and try to shake off as many lumps as possible. It's okay if there are a few lumps, as they will cook when you add the sauce to the pan.
- This makes a lot, because I love this dish to be so saucy. You can split the recipe in half if you prefer a drier stir fry. If you have leftover sauce, store it well in the refrigerator for a week in an airtight container or jar.
Prepare the noodles:
- Cook dry ramen noodles in boiling water until tender, 2 to 3 minutes. Drain the noodles and rinse under cold water to stop them from cooking.
Cook stir fry:
- In a large skillet or skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Season the steak with 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper.
- Once the skillet is hot, add the steak pieces. Cook for about 3 minutes, undisturbed, to allow them to burn well on one side. Then stir and continue cooking for another 2 to 3 minutes, until the steak is cooked through.
- Remove the steak from the skillet, and add a tablespoon of olive oil and broccoli florets. Add 1/2 cup water to the pan and cover. Steam broccoli for 2 minutes. Broccoli should be bright green and tender, and not mushy at all.
- Add the steaks back to the skillet, along with the cooked and rinsed noodles. Pour in all the sauce. (If you prefer a drier stir fry, you can start with half the sauce.) Use tongs or a large rubber spatula to stir the ingredients as the sauce cooks. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Serve the stir fry immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and, optionally, sriracha.
